The Advantages of the Home Business Opportunity

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009
Changu Mazana asked:

The advantages of a home based business are that the family is not neglected. The needs of the family are not sacrificed in pursuit of a profession. Also, the problems of commuting to offices in rush hour traffic and the consequent stress can be avoided. There is a great deal of flexibility in the amount of work taken in and the amount of time devoted to the work. The home based business person is his or her own boss and has the freedom to choose the type of work and the hours of work. When the business makes profits, the fruits of labor will be realized without compromising on the welfare of the family.

The disadvantages are there are no regular hours. The home business opportunity needs constant attention. There are no vacations, insurance or other benefits of a commercial workplace. Another issue can be that concentrated effort on the business could be difficult with constant demands from the family. Success will not come in an instance and the business will require a great deal of research, input and hard work before it shows profits. The business’ Reputation has to be built and that takes time in comparison to being part of a regular company with an established reputation.

There are many home business opportunities available both online and in general. Some opportunities that are generally home based are domestic services like pet sitting, catering and cleaning.

Persons with hobbies or skills from which they would like to profit usually establish their business at home. Popular skills for bringing in money are calligraphy, sewing, knitting carpentry and artwork. Calligraphy is a popular hobby. It is in great demand for invitation and greeting cards.

The internet opened up a world of home business opportunities. Data entry, typing and writing at home have become lucrative online businesses. Web content writers, article writers, and newsletter writers are required for online marketing by companies, small and large. In this fast paced world professionals dictate their notes into audio tapes. A type at home business which helps transcribe these audio notes bring quick profits to the entrepreneur.

Another popular online business opportunity for home is affiliate marketing. As marketing technology advances, affiliate marketing has become a simple process. A person has to sign up with a company which sell products and services to affiliates and allow advertisers to advertise on his or her website. When a prospective customer buys a product, the affiliate gets a commission. The product owner gives a turnkey website or a website that is already running to the affiliate thus saving the affiliate the hassle of setting up a website.

A business at home has its advantages and its limitations. Seizing home business opportunities is the best way to profit from business and have a happy home at the same time.

How do you go about creating your own pigments and inks for use in calligraphy and illumination?

Wednesday, February 4th, 2009
Ereon asked:

I’ve been working on improving the look of my journal lately, turning it from something simple to something more eye pleasing and expressive. I’ve started tinkering with Illumination, and I’ve been practicing calligraphy for the last few months. One thing I’d like to start learning how to do is make my own inks for use in my journal, both in the calligraphy, and in the illumination facets of it. Does anyone know how to make calligraphy and illumination inks (preferably with fairly easy to acquire components), or know any links with instructions on how to make them? Thank you all in advance for your assistance.

China Wedding Trends Review

Monday, February 2nd, 2009
Janey Yang asked:

rends for 2008 promise to bring more vitality and excitement to your big day! These will be fun weddings that you will really enjoy attending! Wedding trends for 2008 include different and more unusual wedding themes, wedding gifts, and honeymoon locations.

Eco-Friendly Trends: Organic and Green

As everyone continues to “go green”, wedding favors do the same. If you are looking for eco-friendly favors, consider flower seeds, mini potted plants or even bird’s nests.

Many wedding traditions and trends have changed along with wedding fashions. Though wedding trends may come and go, many items like reception favors and the use of calligraphy remain constants.

Couples that are tying the knot in 2008 are doing their best to be part of the environmental green movement by serving organic foods at their weddings and brides are carrying organic flowers, using recycled paper products, and serving organic foods at the reception. Today’s bride and groom are holding showers and receptions at unconventional sites such as homeless shelters as well as donating to charitable causes instead of receiving gifts.

Organic brides can choose a wedding dress made from sustainable materials such as Hemp, reuse a wedding dress, or make a wedding dress from eco-friendly materials. Green weddings will play a big part in weddings for 2008.

Honeymoon Trends

Couples that are marrying in 2008 won’t necessarily choose to celebrate their future lives together by honeymooning along side of a beach somewhere. Honeymooners are just as likely to seek out an action packed ten day stay at a ski resort in Pennsylvania or at a dude ranch in Montana or elect to spend their honeymoon vacation by participating in an activity they both enjoy. They may even go so far as to rough it by taking an African safari rather than indulge themselves at a luxury hotel. 2008 honeymoons are all about experiencing life to the fullest. Today’s couple is more individualistic in their selection of their wedding theme and wedding attire.

Wedding Cakes and Gift Trends

Big wedding cakes are back in a big way, along with patterns in the cake and frosting. The big cakes often feature a different flavour per layer, and brides are going with stacked layers instead of layers on stands. Bride and groom cake toppers are coming back in style, as a tip to the retro look. Brides are also favouring cakes that replicate the patterns in their dresses. Buttercreme frosting is big, but doesn’t hold up well for warm weather events.

Timely: Square and hexagon shapes, white and chocolate mousse flavors, edible pearls and bows, chocolate frosting, sparkles, fresh fruit, wedding colors

Traditional gifts such as bedding set and home textile are still popular, but it’s been personalized. You can make the gift more special by putting more personal elements into it. There is a kind of gift called “cake towel” that really hot and special right now. In recent years, there has been an increasing demand for cake-shaped decorative accessories using a towel cloth as a gift or present, and there has been a demand for other types of decorative accessories that have a cake shape. Traditional wedding gifts such as chocolate gifts are so common that people want to add some personality and uniqueness to their wedding gift; cake towel seems to be a perfect choice.

Creating Websites Trends

Many couples have been creating wedding websites for years now. They are a great place to include information and updates for your friends and families. Brides also often enjoy blogging about the whole wedding planning experience. What is new about these sites, is that they are becoming more interactive. The bride and groom are having fun posting polls where guests can vote on aspects of the wedding (salsa band or ’80s cover band – you decide). It is a great way to get the guests excited about your wedding.

Wedding Color and Flower Trends

Color trends for weddings are continually changing. Each spring designers preview what color or colors they think will be the hot trend for the following year. The wedding color trend for 2008 will bring a fashionable new color scheme and a monochromatic color palate to brides to select from.

Keep in mind that if you draw your color inspiration from nature, and the season you are marrying in, your wedding will be beautiful. Colors drawn from nature are always fashionable, yet timeless. Ultimately, the color you select for your wedding should be something you are comfortable with. Select colors you will be able to enjoy in your photographs for years to come.

Elegance through color and texture bring attention to the bride and to the event itself. Casual weddings, formal weddings and everything in between are now enveloped with colorful flowers and floral accessories.

Brides are choosing different flowers for their bridesmaids. Traditionally, bridesmaids have a smaller version of the bride’s bouquet. In recent years, brides are choosing to make bridesmaid bouquets smaller than “normal” and are putting their money into their own bouquet. With silk flowers this is an easy task as different flowers can be made in similar shades of the primary bridal color.

Traditional Calligraphy Invitations Remain Unchanged

Calligraphy has long been a part of wedding invitations. The word “calligraphy” means beautiful handwriting and includes a variety of writing styles. Even after it became customary to order printed or engraved wedding invitations, calligraphy was still used to address the invitation envelopes to add a special touch. Whether you are planning a formal or informal wedding, using calligraphy to address your invitation envelopes, and your reception placecards adds a touch of elegance.
